On September 22, 2026, the third competition day of the swimming events at the 20th Asian Games, Shenzhen University student Peng Xuwei (Class of 2026, Master of Sports) won the gold medal in the women's 200-meter backstroke and broke the Asian record in the event, which had stood for 16 years; Dong Zhihao (Class of 2024, Sports Training; final, breaststroke) and Jiang Chenglin (Class of 2023, Sports Training; preliminary round, backstroke) won the gold medal in the men's 4×100-meter medley relay; and Cheng Yujie (Class of 2023, Sports Training) won the bronze medal in the women's 100-meter freestyle.

At this Asian Games, nine current Shenzhen University students are competing in the swimming events. As of the third competition day (halfway through the swimming schedule), Shenzhen University students have won a total of 5 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
